Itinerary
- Day 1
Cape Town
You'll land at Cape Town International Airport and a driver picks you up, taking you straight to your hotel. After settling in, the rest of the day is yours to explore however you'd like. Some options include wandering through the city center, taking the cable car up Table Mountain for views across the city, or heading down to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront where you can browse shops, grab dinner at one of the restaurants, check out the bars, or visit the aquarium.

Cape Town
Start with breakfast at the hotel, then walk through Cape Town's City Bowl to see the neoclassical and Art Deco buildings scattered throughout. You'll visit the Castle of Good Hope, walk past the Grand Parade and City Hall (the spot where Nelson Mandela gave his freedom speech), check out Company's Garden, and wander through the colorful Bo-Kaap neighborhood with its bright houses and local character. By lunchtime, grab samosas and spiced food from street vendors, then the rest of your day is free to do as you wish.

Cape Town
After breakfast at the hotel, head to Langa township to see how residents construct homes using recycled materials and learn about daily life there. From there, you'll move to the Southern Suburbs to take in the local architecture and walk around the UCT Campus. Next, drive up to Rhodes Memorial for sweeping views back over Cape Town and the surrounding landscape. After that, you'll see Groote Schuur, the significant location where Mandela and F.W. de Klerk signed the documents ending apartheid. The day finishes with a formal wine tasting at Groot Constantia, South Africa's oldest wine estate, where you can sample their range of wines and learn about their history.

Franschhoek
Have breakfast at the hotel, then travel to Stellenbosch to walk down Dorpstraat and look at the historic Cape Dutch architecture lining the streets. You'll stop at Rustenburg for a wine tasting and time to walk their beautiful gardens, then continue to Boschendal Manor House to see the famous 1812 gable and its grounds. Around midday, you'll have a picnic lunch in summer or a light a la carte meal in winter, both paired with wine tastings. Later, head to Franschhoek to explore the Huguenot heritage and the town's character before your guide drives you back to Cape Town.
