From their quick responses to the many questions we had about the hike and how to prepare, to welcoming me at the airport after the flight was cancelled and I was there 8 hours later than planned, to the final summit on the mountain, it was traveling with those you trusted as they wanted to you to have the best experience possible. - Brock· October 6th, 2022This was an amazing adventure. Our guides were experienced. They checked our gear before the hike to ensure we had everything we needed. They monitored our heat rate and oxygen levels each night. They knew when we needed encouragement and went above and beyond to get all seven of us to the summit. The 28 porters that carried our tents, food, etc were friendly and helpful. spider tours and safaris, is a local outfit who knows their stuff. We could not have done it without them. - suzany· October 6th, 2022I had a fantastic climb on the 5 day marangu route with spider tours and safaris. The care and service was exceptional from start to finish and nothing was too much trouble, eg 4am pick up from hotel to airport. We made the climb, but more important to me was to enjoy every minute of every day, which I did thanks to the guides and everybody else in the 13 man team of porters. The food was excellent and very varied- in the end we had to ask for a visit to see how on earth kiba managed to produce such great food from a single gas ring in a little tent. If anybody is considering climbing Kilimanjaro then I would suggest you don't hesitate - just make sure you're reasonably fit in order to actually enjoy summit day. I strongly recommend spider tours and safaris- we had such fun.Show moreSpider Tours and Safaris commented on this reviewThanks ever so much for climb Kilimanjaro 5 days marangu route and go all the way to the summit. - ashley· October 6th, 2022Just completed a 5 day marangu route trip with spider tours and safaris. Everything, from airport pick-up up to drop-of was exceeding our expectations. These guys really go the extra mile to bring you an unforgettable experience. Couple of reasons why I believe spider tours and safaris really stands out: (i)The guides where highly experienced and professional (ii) the organizing team had been porters and then guides themselves so knew everything there was to know about the mountain and the trip (iii) Overall customer services and responsiveness to inquiries was superb (iv) The materials, equipment and service on the mountain was amazing. All together, heartily recommend anyone to consider climbing the mountain to do so with spider tours and safaris.Show moreSpider Tours and Safaris commented on this reviewThanks ever so much for choosing our local company for your life time adventure in Kilimanjaro and show you all our country as to offer. - yozon· October 6th, 2022You can only google so much and listen to second had accounts of others who made it before you. A group of my friends and I chose spider tours and safaris, on a 5 day Marangu route. While you get to stand alone at the top and take a picture in front of that rickety sign you realize how much you come to depend on the guides, in my case and the cast and crew from spider tours and safaris, who get you there. It sure is demanding but the crew keeps it easy with their good nature and humor and subtly monitor each individual and assist them as necessary. I will forever remember the team from spider tours and safaris, that got me there. Sure I am glad I got up to Uhuru but the love and friendship and encouragement from spider tours and safaris, tops that physical station.Show moreSpider Tours and Safaris commented on this reviewThanks for take your time and write a such a good review, we are always looking for energetic and enthusiastic people to join on our traditional Kilimanjaro climb and i can say with proudly we get. Asked on April 10th, 20251) Are sleeping bags provided and sleeping pads/mattresses? 2) How would you advise we handle money? Is credit readily accepted? ATMs? Exchange upon arrival? 3) We have requested a vegan diet. Are raw fruits and vegetables safe? 4) Will it be less crowded in May? I have read that the temperature may be around 27c at the start and -27c at the summit, is this accurate? 5) How many other climbers will be in our group? 6) Will there be any opportunities to bathe or shower while on the route? 7) Finally, do you know how many others will be in our climbing group?
- Spider Tours and SafarisOperator•Written April 2025
1. Sleeping Bags and Sleeping Pads/Mattresses: Please note that sleeping bags are not included in your package, but sleeping pads/mattresses will be provided for your comfort during your stay.
2. Handling Money: Credit cards are generally accepted at most establishments, but it's always wise to carry some cash for smaller vendors. ATMs are also available, and you can exchange money upon arrival at the airport or in town. I recommend having a mix of both for convenience.
3. Vegan Diet and Foods: Your request for a vegan diet is noted. Raw fruits and vegetables are generally safe.
4. Crowds and Temperatures in May: May is typically less crowded, especially compared to the peak season. Your temperature readings are generally accurate, with daytime temperatures around 27°C and much colder conditions at higher elevations, potentially dropping to -27°C at the summit, so please prepare accordingly.
5. Group Size: As of now, it will just be the two of you in your group. However, the exact number of climbers that will join you will be confirmed upon your arrival.
6. Shower Availability: Yes, there will be opportunities to take a shower; however, this is considered an extra service. If you would like to take advantage of this option, you can arrange and pay for it after your arrival.
