  1. Day 1

    Seattle to Lopez Island

    You'll meet in Seattle and catch a complimentary van shuttle to Anacortes, then board a ferry across the Salish Sea heading to Lopez Island. The bike ride takes you through Spencer Spit State Park and past Lopez Village, ending at Fisherman Bay where you'll check into the historic Edenwild Boutique Inn for two nights. Settle in and get ready for island exploring tomorrow.

    Lopez Island

    You'll ride a clockwise loop around Lopez Island, starting at Spencer Spit State Park and heading south toward Watmough Bay where seals often hang out along the shore. The route takes you to Agate Beach, where you can stop and listen to the waves rolling in. Throughout the day the Olympic Mountains stay in view, and the quiet roads make for a peaceful ride around this smaller island.

  3. Day 3

    Orcas Island to Friday Harbor

    After a short ferry ride to Orcas Island, you'll reach Moran State Park and have your choice: hike through old-growth forest to the Mt. Constitution summit or cycle the challenging switchbacks up the mountain. Either way, you get sweeping views of the Olympic and Cascade ranges from the top. From there, a 3-hour private water taxi and wildlife watching cruise takes you to Friday Harbor, where you're staying the next three nights. Dinner that evening is your call on where to eat.

  4. Day 4

    San Juan Island - Kayaking and Cycling

    You'll paddle two-person kayaks around San Juan Island's rocky, tree-lined shore with a guide from San Juan Kayak Expeditions providing instruction. Keep watch for birds and marine life in the calm waters of Puget Sound and the Salish Sea. The group stops at Turn Island for a picnic lunch and a 1-mile walk around the island. Later, you cycle an easy 10-mile loop around Pear Point, and there's a section worth riding twice if you want to linger there.

  5. Day 5

    San Juan Island Loop

    Cycling today takes you across San Juan Island's open farmland and quiet country roads with ocean views. Head to Cattle Point Lighthouse for views across the Strait of Juan de Fuca toward the Olympic Mountains, and on clear days Mt. Rainier appears about 125 miles out. Stop for lunch at Lime Kiln State Park, known as one of the country's best orca watching locations. After that, you'll visit the national historic park site of the Pig War and swing by historic Roche Harbor before heading back to Friday Harbor.

    Friday Harbor to Seattle

    Pick how you want to spend your morning: visit the Whale Museum (included admission), hike 2 miles to a viewpoint at English Camp, or take an easy walk along the water. Grab lunch on your own in Friday Harbor afterward. That afternoon, you'll board a chartered float plane for the trip back to Seattle, skipping the usual traffic with a bird's-eye view of Puget Sound, the Cascade Mountains, and the Olympics below. A van meets you in Seattle to take you to your flight or hotel.

      Yes, the price of $3,649 is per person and is based on two people sharing a room. All Bicycle Adventures tours include bicycles (choice of a road bike or flat-bar bike, with options to upgrade to an electric-assist bike for just $200), full guide, van and luggage support, plus deluxe lodgings, fine dining, and plenty of extra activities as described on each of the tour pages. You just bring your clothes for cycling and off-the-bike wear, and everything else is included.
