- Discovery of Spain - 10 days
The quality fo the hotels was above average and the driver was excellent. The tour guide was changed 3 times .ROsa was our first one and was satisfactory, the second one did the tour of the city of Madrid was excellent her knowledge was amazing and interesting. The third one was Alejandra who was really nice and tried really hard to please and still control the group. What was not satisfactory was ,the first night they were given a bus that did not work, the sound system did not work then the bus quit. that is poor quality directly due to the company not the employees . Therefore we missed seeing some of what we should have seen. The bus for the rest of the tour was good and comfortable and not overfilled. These are the things I feel are missing in your tour company. I have taken many tours and they usually operate like this. 1)At the beginning of the tour you are provided with a detailed list of time tables of all activiites and places and what you will see each day and where you will stay each night . In your company we are given only a time table each night of when we are to get up , have breakfast and if we have ot take luggage with us and what time we are leaving. Verbally when we begin the day the tour quide informs us of where we are going and some broad parameters of time tables. thoughout the day we are updated on timelines etc . 2) In really good tours-You are also given a rotationg seating arrangement for each day so everyone has an opportunity to be seated in the best seats. it is not a scramble of who can get there first which is how your company chooses to operate. It is not fair to the less mobile people . 3)also the better tours - take the luggage from the hotel to the bus for the clients. In your companies case you ask your clients to transport their own luggage which is still acceptable. But what is not is that you ask your clients to stand with their luggage till the bus driver gets to it to load it. that means that individual travellers are then last to enter the bus and get last pick of the seats as the couples are smart enough to quickly figure out to send one person in ot grab the best seats . So to be fair you should either have a seating plan or not require people to stand with their luggage until the bus driver has time to load their luggage. I heard some of the complaints from other clients and they may not tell you but they will tell their friends. Another suggestion I will make is that you add something other than just cathedrals and city tours to your intinerary . the Flamenco show was excellent and so was the artisan shops . but you need more variety to your tour to make it better . after a while it is just another cathedral and just another government building no matter how detailed they are . You could add things to make it a lot more intersting , like sheep farms, factories ,the andalusina horse show at the royal stable, information on the economy, goernment, education , your fishing industry and many other subjects that would make this a lot more interesting. For those reason I felt it was only satisfactory. If you want to see what the best tour I have ever taken looks for variety , take a look at CIE in Ireland of their 21 day tour of all of Ireland. It is by far the best tour I have ever been on and has become my measure for all other tours .
- Charming Spain - 9 Days
excellent tour, only I was not aware that it consisted of primarily spanish speaking people. Luckily I am portuguese and so was the tour guide or needless to say it wouldn't have been very satisfying. I was also not aware I was on the economy standard so I was left alone at the last hotel, having all my new acquaintances at a hotel 20 minute car distance away. The sites were marvelous as was the food. The weather was disappointing as it rained all week but no one to blame.
What our customers ask about Spain Luxury Tours & Trips
What type of luxury accommodations can I expect on a high-end tour of Spain?
High-end tours in Spain provide stays at select 4 and 5-star hotels placed in central locations that give easy access to major attractions. You'll find properties like the 5-star Eurostars Hotel Real in Santander which sits above Playa de los Peligros beach and the refined Hesperia Madrid on the city's most fashionable boulevard. Some tours include stays at the Barceló Valencia with views of the City of Arts and Sciences or the NH Collection Santiago de Compostela which brings modern comforts to a historic setting. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "The hotels were comfortable and in great locations and we appreciated a nice balance of included amenities."
What types of special access or VIP experiences are offered?
Top-tier tours give you access to experiences most visitors don't get. You can take private flamenco classes at Seville's Cristina Heeren Foundation visit the Alhambra Palace in Granada after regular hours or join cooking sessions with local chefs in Valencia. The programs often include private wine tastings guided museum visits with art experts and nights in historic paradors. A TourRadar traveler shares: "The private flamenco lesson in Seville and exclusive early access to the Alhambra before the crowds made us feel truly special."
What is the best time of year for luxury travel in Spain?
For the best travel conditions plan your Spanish journey during spring (April-May) or fall (September-October). These months bring mild weather and fewer tourists. Cities like Seville and Granada see temperatures around 70-75°F (21-24°C). Southern Spain gets quite hot in summer while coastal spots like San Sebastian stay comfortable year-round. According to a TourRadar traveler: "Our September tour provided perfect weather for exploring the Alhambra in Granada and enjoying rooftop dinners in Madrid."
What regions of Spain are best for luxury travel experiences?
The most refined experiences center around Andalusia (especially Seville Granada and Cordoba) Madrid and Barcelona. Each area offers something distinct from the palatial architecture of Granada to the sophisticated cultural scenes of Madrid and Barcelona. As one TourRadar traveler puts it: "The contrast between the royal elegance of Madrid and the artistic sophistication of Barcelona combined with the Moorish luxury of Andalusia created an incredible high-end journey."
