What people love about Fully Guided Tours in Greece
- Paradisial Peloponnese (All-Inclusive Guided Semi-Private Tour)
We did the Paradisial Peloponnese tour. It is an amazing tour full of variety. The accommodation is of a very high standard. The food is all inclusive and is delicious and plentiful. We tried so many different things. We even got to catch our lunch and enjoy grilled trout straight from the water to our plate. Our guide was so knowledgeable and painted pictures in our minds so vividly, we could almost believe we were in ancient Greece. Do not miss this tour. It is the most interesting, enjoyable and fun tour we have done.
- Amazing Aegean (All-Inclusive Guided Semi-Private Tour)
5 star experience for the “Amazing Aegean” tour. Some reasons why we booked, and how the experience exceeded our expectations: 1. Small group. We were seeking a small intimate setting that would allow us to enjoy each destination and setting without feeling like we were part of a “tour” being in a herd of people. Especially during Covid, we wanted to feel safe. Our small group size was ideal and it was so easy to get around. 2. Seamless Organization. We wanted an “all inclusive” type tour where we could both enjoy our trip without having to worry about all the logistics of how to get from place to place, booking tickets, researching the best hotels, activities, etc. George handled everything from the moment we landed. He arranged a car to drive us from the airport to the hotel, handled all the hotel reservations and the check in process was quick and easy at each destination. At no point were we waiting in long lines or wasting time with paperwork etc as everything was pre-arranged. Everything was seamless. George is an expert and has great connections everywhere so we were treated to the best private experiences and seats wherever we went. 3. Thoughtful Itinerary. Each day was thoughtfully planned so that we got the most out of our experience. We saw historic sites, beautiful views, went to off the beaten path and non-touristy destinations. Heavier walking days were followed by more leisurely activities the following day, so that we always comfortable and rested. I cannot pick what was the highlight of the tour as there was such great variety in our activities and sights… each day was amazing. 4. Dining/Food. George is a foodie and took us to the best restaurants. We tried a wide variety of the best greek dishes from local dishes, to gourmet. Most nights our dinners were accompanied by fantastic views. Delicious desserts :) 5. The Guide. If you are lucky enough to have Babis as your guide, you will know your experience will be unmatched. He is a wealth of knowledge and gave the us best lessons in greek history, mythology, & culture. There is nothing he doesn’t know!! He was so professional, friendly, passionate, and so knowledgable in every subject! He is completely fluent in Greek & English and honestly, his english vocabulary is probably more extensive than mine hah! He is just excellent! 6. Attention to detail. The smaller things George did to make sure our experience was comfortable was greatly appreciated. He tidied up the car each night so that each day began fresh with a clean van and a new water bottle on our seats. He brought the van on the ferry to the different islands and travel was so convenient. Roads in Greece are narrow and especially in Santorini, the terrain in difficult to drive but George is an excellent and safe driver. Our trip was an unforgettable and treasured experience. Although George and Babis have done these tours numerous times, their passion and excitement taking us to each destination made our whole trip! We already look forward to our next booking with PicTours of Greece so we can see our new friends again :)
- Grand Classical Tour Of Greece plus Mani and Monemvasia (Small group - In depth culture, Historical, Nature, Culinary guided tour)
My husband and I did the 10-day Grand Classical Tour of Greece as a private tour and loved it. With George as our guide, and Christos as our driver, it was one of our most memorable trips. George is incredibly knowledgeable and Christos a great driver. We learned so much about Greek history, mythology and culture. Greece is an amazing country - so the tour was really engrossing. We tried all sorts of Greek food- food is a big part of the experience. George knew all the best places to eat! Because my husband and I are physically active, George made sure that each day included a nice amount of walking - around archaeological sites, up to ancient castles, etc. (I think this level of activity may have been somewhat customized to us). Epos was very easy to book with- they were responsive, accommodating, and very knowledgeable- we really appreciated the personalized attention from Dionysis during the booking process. By the end of the tour, saying goodbye to George and Christos felt like saying farewell to family. Thank you George, Christos and Dionysis for a wonderful tour!
What our customers ask about Greece Guided Tours & Trips
What unique benefits does a fully guided tour offer for exploring Greece's historical sites?
Professional licensed guides on fully guided tours provide detailed context that transforms visits to Greece's ancient sites. At the Acropolis in Athens guides explain architectural elements of the Parthenon and Temple of Athena Nike that most visitors overlook. Sites like Ancient Delphi and Olympia come to life through stories of Greek mythology and athletic traditions. A TourRadar traveler's review of G Adventures tours noted: "Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic making every historical site come alive with fascinating details and stories that we would have missed exploring alone."
What's included in terms of meals on fully guided Greece tours?
Tour packages generally cover daily hotel breakfasts at properties like the Athens Avenue Hotel and select group dinners. Many tours add special food experiences such as Greek cooking classes or family-style taverna meals. Lunches stay flexible allowing travelers to explore local dining spots independently. According to one TourRadar review: "The included breakfasts at the Grand Meteora Hotel were excellent with both hot and cold options while group dinners gave us the chance to try authentic Greek specialties like moussaka and souvlaki recommended by our guide."
How does the accommodation vary on fully guided tours in Greece?
Tours typically book 3-4 star hotels chosen for convenient locations and reliable comfort. Athens accommodations like the Fresh Hotel or Athenaeum Grand Hotel put travelers in the city center while properties near Meteora offer monastery views. A TourRadar guest noted: "The hotels were excellent especially the Amalia Hotel in Delphi with its mountain views and the Hotel Europa in Olympia." Standard amenities include daily breakfast rooftop dining pools and updated rooms.
How does the seasonal timing affect guided tours in Greece?
The season shapes every aspect of guided tours in Greece. Summer months (June-September) bring ideal swimming weather at beaches like Voidokilia but also peak crowds. Spring and fall offer pleasant temperatures for exploring ruins like Mycenae without summer heat. One traveler shared on TourRadar: "We visited in May and had perfect weather for climbing around ancient ruins plus the wildflowers at Delphi were stunning." Winter tours mean fewer tourists and lower rates though mountain areas like Meteora may face weather disruptions.
What types of transportation are used on fully guided tours?
Modern coaches with air conditioning handle overland routes between major sites like Athens Delphi and Meteora. Island visits incorporate ferry transport to places like Santorini and Mykonos. A TourRadar review stated: "The coach was very comfortable with large windows perfect for enjoying the scenic mountain routes to Meteora." Tour operators manage all transfers including airport pickups and local site transportation.
What is the typical group size on fully guided tours in Greece?
Most guided tours accommodate 12-25 travelers though select companies like Epos Travel cap groups at 6 people. Smaller groups allow better access to guides while exploring places like Crete's Palace of Knossos or Epidaurus's ancient theater. As one TourRadar participant shared: "Our group of 15 was perfect - large enough to be social but small enough that our guide could give everyone individual attention at archaeological sites and ensure we could hear all the historical details."
